This is a very good example of the monthly magazine SS Germanische Leithefte from the third year, combining issues 3 and 4 of 1943, “B” edition, as published by the Reichsführer-SS Head Office DIII in Berlin, Germany in July 1943.
The theme of this rare edition is Germanische Heimat or Germanic Homeland.
The 80 pages of the 6-3/8 x 9 inch magazine are filled with particulalry heroic and tender full-page examples of the best recent Germanic SS Nazi art between verses of an especially touching modern Germanic hero saga written by Panzergrenadier SS-Obersturmführer Hans-Werner Nachrodt of the SS-Wiking Division.
The final four pages of the magazine identify all of the art by name and by artist. Much of it was done by SS men serving in the field with the various Waffen-SS divisions. A very rare issue of the SS Germanische Leithefte in very good original condition.

The magazine SS Germanische Leithefte and SS Leitheft were published by the Reichsführer-SS - Hauptamt VI/3 in Berlin for circulation among the SS and SS sponsored and affiliated organizations in Greater Germany and German occupied countries. Its purpose was to teach and to reinforce a belief in the superior nature of Germanic people and their values throughout history. Its message was that in the end, it was responsibility of the SS to ensure the survival of Germanic people.

This very rare 6-1/2 x 9 inch, 52 page very heavily illustrated soft cover magazine SS Germanische Leithefte has as its general theme The Racial Awareness of Beauty.
With dozens of superb photographs the concept of Germanic beauty is shown in th faces of SS Officers and men, their wives, children and parents.
The text explains the historic relationship in various Germanic languages (including English) between words like “light” or “fair” and “beautiful”. A selection of quotations from Adolf Hitler and the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler support the SS view.

This rare 6-1/2 x 9 inch, 48 page heavily illustrated soft cover magazine SS Leitheft concerns itself with a number of subjects of great interest to SS people and their families. Among them are articles “Europe and Us,” Hitler Youth volunteers in the Waffen-SS and Waffen-SS volunteers from many countries and special editions of books for the Waffen-SS.
There is also an interesting article about the little town of Großarl, Germany where in a population of only 2,046 people, over 300 women had been awarded the Ehrenkreuz der deutschen Mutter (the German Mother’s Cross of Honor). Very good condition.
