This is a fine example of the very heavily illustrated 6 x 8-1/2 inch (horizontal) 392 page cased German book “FREMDE HEERE IM BILD” (Foreign Armies in Pictures) published by Ludwig Voggenreiter Verlag in Potsdam (Berlin) in 1935.

Mussolini, motorcycles, machine guns
The rare book is filled with hundreds of sharp, clear full-page and half-page photographs of soldiers, officers, weapons, maneuvers, motorcycles (some with machine guns attached to the handle bars!), tanks, trucks, scout cars, aircraft, anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft guns, Christie tanks, pontoon bridges, armored cars, halftracks, self-propelled artillery, artillery, artillery tractors, machine guns, rubber boats, field guns, cavalry, medals, field radios, passenger pigeons, bridges, balloons, range finders, field kitchens, mortars, gas masks, mountain howitzers, signal equipment, radio cars, and even children in the military!
This big book is broken up into six 64-page sections that deal with six separate subjects:
1) Children in military training
2) The British Army
3) The Italian Army
4) The French Army
5) The Red [Russian] Army
6) Tanks and Vehicles
Tanks
A special section in tanks and vehicles deals with American Christie tanks (at least four rare full-page photos) and a couple of Jap tanks. Every photo is well captioned in German and each section has a brief two or three page written introduction.
Anti-aircraft guns
This is a very rare book that can be found in only the most advanced vehicle libraries and collections. It is in very good condition and comes complete with its original chipboard case.
