Subtitled "An Expedition Through Four Decades of Movies" this very well-illustrated 6-1/8 x 9-1/8 inch, 176 page anti-Semitic soft cover book by Carl Neumann, Curt Belling and Hans-Walther Betz was published by Verlag Hermann Scherping in Berlin in 1937.

The name Kohn is the title Film-'Kunst', Film-Kohn, Film-Korruption, is said to be used to describe a type of person, and not a specific individual. The text describes extremely predatory people of the most loathsome kind (many of the ex-Germans) who built the movie business in Germany, New York and Hollywood aided by a complete lack of scruples and ethics, and made themselves wealthy by pandering to the lowest elements of society.

The photographs show many of the biggest names in early film - Lubitsch, Laemmle, Kaufman, Friedman, Ehrlich, Dupont, Wallburg-Wasserzug, Kohn, Gerron, Tauber, Breslauer - and claims they are all Jews. The photos go on to show nude, semi-nude, suggestive, black face and other scenes from movies.

There is some interesting statistical information, and in-depth information about what the NSDAP had done to run these people out of the film business in Germany.

The book explains the Nazi point of view about movies in general. There is an Index of film related words and an Index of authors and their works of interest on the subject of entertainment. A very rare book in good used condition. Note that somebody wrote the date 1937 on the front cover. The cover of this book is not as faded as it appears in our photo.
