GERMAN PRODUCTS AROUND THE WORLD |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A RARE NAZI BOOK
DEUTSCHE SCHAFFEN IN ALLER WELT (GERMAN PRODUCTS AROUND THE WORLD) |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The word ,,Schaffen’’ in German actually means considerably more than just “products”, and this book goes well beyond trucks, cars and airplanes to include the German communities, organizations, architecture, engineering and people that impacted the settlement and growth of other nations around the globe.
This rare second edition of Deutsche Schaffen in Aller Welt (German Products Around The World) is a big 9 x 12 inch, 400 page, very, very heavily illustrated hardcover book produced by the Auslands-Organisation of the Nazi Party and published by Joh. Kasper & Co. of Berlin, Germany in 1942. |

Following an introduction by Gauleiter E.W. Bohle and a brief 19 page introduction, the book is composed entirely of large, clear sepia duotone photographs (one to a page) with comprehensive captions in German, Italian, Spanish and ENGLISH. Almost anyone on earth can read these captions!
The first photograph in the book shows Hitler being introduced by Gauleiter E.W. Bohle to his father and his son in a HJ uniform. This photo replaced the Deputy Führer Rudolf Hess photo in the original edition of the book.
That is followed by photographs and captions related to the work of the AO, German ships, German exports, farms, pipelines, construction projects, power stations, bridges, Dornier and Junkers aircraft, television, factories, Henschel, NSU and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the Nanga Parbat Expedition, plantations, schools, mines, etc.
There are photographs of mass meetings of German National Socialist, sports and civic clubs in Buenos Aires, Belgrano, Valparaiso, Shanghai, Cape Flats, Windhuk, Kairo, Palestine, Athens, Sofia, Davos, Rome, etc.
Some of the people shown in the book include German pioneers, inventors and soldiers such as Humboldt, Moritz, Von Eschwege, Philippi, Weiser, Von Steuben, Mühlenberg, List, Follen, Lieber, Sutter, Roebling, Siegel, Mergenthaler, Westinghouse, etc., etc. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
There are pictures of German towns in foreign lands such as Stuttgart, Berlin, Emden, etc.
This book has a thankful dedication on the front end paper dated 24 December 1943 in Graz, signed by three Auslandsorganisation staff members, Dr. Popelka, Dr. Hugo Fuhrmann and Dr. Notreul. Very good condition overall.
