These are the only labels for cans in which the German company Degesch packed ZYKLON poison gas pellets, that we are able to certify as absolutely authentic.
Degesch manufactured all hydrocyanic acid sold under their ZYKLON tradename.
This standard Degesch label (also shown at full-length at the top of this web page) measures approximately 2-3/16 x 20 inches (55 x 505 mm) and is printed in red, black and white on a slightly grey-greenish background.
The word GIFTGAS! on the label means poison gas. The text on the label also explains storage and handling precautions for the product and gives the German patent number for ZYKLON.
This Degesch ZYKLON label is complete and in very good condition.

ZYKLON was the Degesch (an abbreviation for DEutsche GEsellschaft für SCHädlingsbekämpfung m.b.H. or German Company for Pest Control Inc.) tradename for their specific brand on hydrocyanic acid and it became the imfamous generic name for all cyanide gas because of its association with Nazi concentration camps during World War II.
We also took these photographs at Mauthausen Concentration Camp (left and above right) that show how these labels were actually applied to cans of Zyklon pellets when they arrived at the Konzentrationslager.
The reason we know that these labels are genuine is that we recently removed them ourselves from the ORIGINAL THIRD REICH DEGESCH PRINTING FILE of the company in Germany that printed these labels for Degesch in 1943 and 1944!
This label is for ZYKLON poison gas product manufactured by Degesch for the company Tesch u. Stabenow Internationale Gesellschaft für Schädlingsbekämpfung m.b.H. in Hamburg, for sale in their exclusive marketing area.
Tesch und Stabenow represented Degesch east of the Elbe river in territory that included the Sudetengau, the Generalgouvernement, Reichskommissariat Ostland, Denmark, Finland and Norway.
This original Third Reich label measures 2-3/16 x 13-1/4 inches (55 x 335 mm) and is printed in red, black and white. The word GIFTGAS! on the label means poison gas. The text on the label also explains storage and handling precautions for the product and gives the German patent number for ZYKLON. It is complete and in very good original condition.
