Haus Wachenfeld Rosenthal plate
Rosenthal plate Haus Wachenfeld
This superb 8-1/2 inch plate by renowned German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal of Selb, Germany depicts Haus Wachenfeld, home of Nazi Führer, Adolf Hitler, on the Obersalzberg high above Berchtesgaden in the mountains of Bayern (Bavaria).
Haus Wachenfeld Obersalzberg
The image on the front of the plate is magnificent. It is both impressed into the porcelain and finely painted by hand to give an unbelievable realistic picture of Hitler’s house in its original configuration. The multi-color picture is encircled by a wide metallic gold line. In about 1936 Hitler began the first of several expansions and renovations of Haus Wachenfeld and renamed it Der Berghof.
In the last days of World War II the British Air Force bombed the Berghof to bits and the remains were blown up in the early 1950s.

Just a few years ago the government of the city of Berchtesgaden which oversees the Obersalzberg, demolished the remainder of the foundation and the garage shown on this plate, to discourage people from visiting the place. There is now an enormous, ugly modern hotel just a few hundred yards away.

This very rare, authentic Nazi period porcelain plate is in perfect condition - no chips, no cracks, no discoloration.

Also for sale on usmbooks.com, original Third Reich postcards of Hitler's
alpine home
and an original Nazi etching of Haus Wachenfeld.
