| Besides the Berghof of Adolf Hitler, splendid sunny weather, a lovely alpine lake, generations of Gebirgsjaeger, and beautiful mountain views, Berchtesgaden is famous for the minerals that are mined there. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The 1 x 2-1/4 x 4 inch nicely made 6-compartment box of mineral samples offered here was acquired by someone on a tour of the Salzbergwerk Berchtesgaden (the mining company) on 21 July 1939. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On the back of the card packed in the box there is an explanation of what the mineral samples in the box are. Numbers 1 through 5 are varieties of salt and number 6 is gypsum.
A great Third Reich Berchtesgaden souvenir, obtained very near Hitler’s Berghof! |
