Nazi architecture model of the projected new Nazi Party Chancellery
All examples of Die Bauten der NSDAP in der Hauptstadt der Bewegung (Nazi Party Construction in the Capital of the Movement) are rare because it was published by the Press Office of the Treasurer of the NSDAP Franz X. Schwarz, and because it was published late, in 1942, on high-quality glossy paper. No other Third Reich publication covers this subject in text and pictures as well as this one does.
Franz Xavier Schwarz wrote the foreword for the 7-3/4 x 10-1/4 inch book, explaining the extremely historic nature of the National Socialist building projects in the Capital of the Nazi Movement, München or Munich.

The frontispiece is a very dramatic Horn-Stauffer painting of Adolf Hitler's left profile, and the next picture in the book is the old NSDAP administrative building, the Braune Haus just off the famous Königsplatz. That is followed by a full-page, full-color Einbeck portrait of the Nazi Party Treasurer F.X. Schwarz wearing his Golden Party Badge (Goldenes Parteiabzeichen, officially the Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP) and the Nazi Blood Order (Blutorden, officially the Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 9. November 1923).
There are four full-page, full-color pictures (including one of Hitler's office in which Hitler, Mussolini, Daladier and Chamberlain met in September 1938 to discuss the annexation by Germany of the Sudetenland -the Munich Agreement) and 16 black & white photos of the Führerbau, its twin building the Verwaltungsbau or Nazi Administrative Offices, the Nazi Honor Temples, the RZM building on Tegenseerlandstrasse, the Hilfszug Bayern, and Das Reichsrevisionsamt. There is also a photo of the model of the projected new Nazi Party Chancellery which was expected to be built in the same area after the war was won.
There is a very interesting chapter on the new Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) building which was part of the Nazi Party Treasury. It includes rare photos of both the front facade of the building and the stained glass windows in the entrance hall.

There is a lot of obscure information in this book about the location of other Nazi paramilitary organizations which were not located on the Königsplatz. For example, it notes that the Oberste SA Führung in the Hotel "Marienbad" at Barer Strasse 7-11, and that the Reichsführung SS was located in the building at the corner of Barer- and Karlstrasse.
The information and photos in Die Bauten der NSDAP in der Hauptstadt der Bewegung are very difficult to find elsewhere and the book is rare enough that only a few good collections have a copy. This 70+ year old example is in very good condition. The red linen cover shows light wear and some missing gold blocking, but the internal pages are in excellent condition.
We added the white outline red text on some of the original photos from this book to explain what they are, and we added a 'Then & Now' comparison photo of the stairway in the Führerbau so that viewers can see how little it has changed in the last 70+ years. A rarity in Germany!
