This is an excellent original example of the rare and large 9-1/2 x 11-3/4 inch 148 page very, very heavily illustrated hard cover book Bauten der Bewegung Volume I or Construction [Projects] of the [Nazi] Movement as published for the book series of the Nazi Building Administration by the Prussian Finance Ministry and printed by Verlag Wilhelm Ernst & Sohn in Berlin in 1938.
If you could have only a single book on the architecture of monumental building projects carried out by the Nazis during the Third Reich, this would be the book to have. With only a small amount of text the large clear photographs of many of the best National Socialist architectural projects begin on page 11. Each photograph or drawing is identified with a copious caption which includes the name of the architect and his city of residence as well as the name and location of the project.
The projects include the Ordensburg Vogelsang by architect Klotz in the Eifel (with many interior and exterior pictures), Ordensburg Crössensee by Klotz in Neustettin, Ordensburg Sonthofen by Giesler at Sonthofen, the DAF Schulungsburg at Saßnitz, NSDAP Schulungsburg Erwitte, the KdF Stadt in Berlin 1936, DAF Gauverwaltung Essen, the Reichsparteitaggelände by Albert Speer in Nuremberg (with an 11-1/2 x 21 inch fold-out), the Reichsautobahn, the German Pavilion at the Paris International Exhibition, the House of German Art by Troost in Munich, ....
.... the Hermann Göring Home of the Hitler Youth by Dustmann in Melle, the House of German Erziehung by Reissinger in Bayreuth, the Italienhaus of the Hitler Youth by Winter on the Havel River near Kladow, the Arbeitsdienst Unterkunft on the Schorfheide, Adolf Hitler Schulen, street decorations for Unter den Linden in Berlin, etc.
