ARNO BREKER
| This is a nice example of the 5 x 7-7/8 inch, 64 page, very heavily illustrated softcover book ,,Arno Breker, the guidebook for an exhibition held in the Lustgarten of the Garnison Museum in Potsdam (just outside Berlin) from June through September 1944. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The exhibition was assembled by Hitlers architect and Reichsminister Albert Speer, and was the last great exhibition of the works of renowned artist Arno Breker. Because the exhibition took place so late in the war, few copies of the original guidebook survive. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The book begins with Brekers Hitler, probably the finest likeness of the Nazi Party Führer ever done. It also includes photos of many of Brekers National Socialist works such as Eagle, the Victor, the Flag, Albert Speer, Iris, Frau Bormann, Edda Göring, Mrs. Speer, nudes such as Female Dancer, Resting, Flora, Grace, Humility, Psyche, You and I, etc. The book is made in such a way that the back cover folds out creating a Feldpost mailer so that the piece could be sent to a soldier in the field. The cover is scotch taped but the contents is in very good condition. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
