This is a splendid little undated 4-1/8 x 5-3/4 inch heavily illustrated 32 page booklet called ,,Abzeichen der SA’’ or “Insignia of the SA” as published by Sturmführer Cord von Einem of SA Sturm 12/2 in Berlin-Schöneberg in cooperation with SA Gruppe Berlin-Brandenburg.

The book was no doubt intended for consumption by people in the SA, and was probably printed to help insure that they were wearing the proper insigne correctly, and to help them identify badges, flags, armbands, etc. worn by SA units other than their own.

The book covers collar tabs of ordinary and unusual types such as those for Mounted Sturm and Navy Sturm. There are swallow nests insignia of rank and shoulder boards. There is trim for visor caps, sleeve insignia, whistle cords, and armbands. There are three pages of charts explaining the trimmings on SA uniforms for units all over Germany. Pictures show the command flags and car fender pennants of SA Staff and SA Motor Staff personnel.

There are pictures identifying the Sturmfahne (Sturm Flags) and the Deutschland Erwache standard.

Another page is devoted to badges one might encounter on uniforms including a very strange looking SS Abzeichen.

There are advertisements for producers of SA and SS uniforms such as Nationale Front at Friedrichstrasse 81 in Berlin and W. Spindler AG. There is also an excellent ad for RZM medals and belt buckle manufacturer Assmann whose Berlin offices were on Potsdamerstrasse and Lützowstrasse, which says they have been producing Nazi material (Bedarf) since 1927.
