The pictures are big and clear and show great improvements over the previous conditions in factory communities, factories themselves, time and places for recreation in offices and industries, sports and leisure, public health and safety, housing developments for workers, vocational training, competition for social achievement awards, and social provisions like daycare.
This is a rare book. It is an original, English language example of a special Deutsche Arbeitsfront or DAF book on the Social Improvements in Germany under the Nazis.
It was probably printed about 1940 and many of the 32 picture pages are separated by tissue pages containting important information about the general subject covered on the facing pages.
There is a serial number 1302 stamped on the first page and on the front cover which is embossed with the cogged wheel and swastika of the DAF.
The 9-1/2 x 9-1/2 inch, 32 page book goes a long way to exaplining things like the Nationalsozialistischer Musterbetrieb or National Socialist Model Factories and the awards given only by Hitler to them.
If you are an English speaker and have an interest in the social aspects of Nazism and the workplace, this is an excellent well-illustrated book that speaks directly to the subject.
