The Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung was a weekly photo newspaper published in Berlin by Ullstein AG, and read by just about everybody in the capital of Nazi Germany. Each 10 x 14 inch issue contained the very latest news, photographs and information gathered from around the world including plenty from the United States and England.   The excellent paper was published every week and sold for only 20 Reichspfennigs, the equivalent of 8 US cents.

Offered on this USMBOOKS web page is every issues for the extremely historic year of 1941 (January through December) bound in two big, heavy 11 x 15 inch hard cover books! Because they were bound like a hard cover book all the issues are still in excellent condition.

Naturally, Nazi Party Führer and German Chancellor Adolf Hitler is prominently featured in every issue, heard from or seen in his role as leader of the government, but also as Chief of the Armed Forces. The 1940 German invasion of the west had been a huge success and the war in the Balkans, Greece and North Africa was in full swing and the summer 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union also got in-depth coverage in these newspapers which have superb photo content.
Many prominent Nazis are featured, from Reichsminister Hermann Göring, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, as well as Il Duce Benito Mussolini, etc. These issues of the Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung also contain anti-Semitic articles, short stories, crossword puzzles, timely jokes and cartoons as well as sport and cultural news and photos of German movie stars, European royalty and on foreign military strongmen.

These newspapers also contain many small photos with captions announcing minor news such as the death of the father of Foreign Minister Von Ribbentrop, a photo of Rudolf Hess' son Wolf-Rudiger with a big dog, Lord Halifax and his wife, Native American protests in America, Luftwaffe Ace Adolf Galland signing autographs, brothers Albrecht and Hubert Lanz receiving the Knight's Cross from Hitler, Al Capone, Australian soldiers in Singapore, gasoline shortages in Switzerland, the diplomatic missions of FDR's son James, the death of famous Kriegsberichter Leutnant Eric Borchert outside Tobruk, Hitler and his old Nazi battle friends in Munich on 9 November 1941, the death of Ernst Udet and his funeral attended by Hitler and Göring, Jews and Communists in the USA, Hitler's response to President Roosevelt in December 1941, Bomb Fever in New York, etc. ,etc.
